Yay! Exams are Over !
Hi cubs,
Did you miss your scouting activities?
It was great to see all of you again after a 2 week break.
Hope all of you did well for your exams.
It was fun seeing your friends in scouting again and playing Captain's ball against the parents, wasn't it?
We'll soon be having loads of more fun in the coming Camp from 28 to 30 May.
Don't miss it!

Welcome !
Last Saturday, we had the pleasure of 10 new cubs joining in our activities. They wasted no time in getting acquainted with their new friends and in learning all about scouting. Our 'seniors' also warmly welcomed the new members and in showing them the ropes, literally.

CPR !
Cubs, what is DR ABC?
Yes, that's right!
It's Danger. Respond. Airway. Breathing. Circulation.
Last Saturday, our cubs had an interesting lesson on how to perform CPR (short for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation). They were taught how to check if a person was still breathing and having a pulse, and the steps to perform CPR.
All the cubs "Eee !" and "Ahhh" when told they had to give mouth-to-mouth breathing, and giggled about bad breath or kissing the opposite sex.
Jokes aside, they were all serious when it came to practising the correct way to perform chest compression :
Looks like we are in the safe company of our cubs, should we faint one day and need CPR!

Visit to Health Promotion Board
On 6th March, 34 of our cubs made their way to the Health Promotion Board, to earn their Cub Scout Junior Health Trooper Badge. Taking the MRT together was part of the exciting activities for the day ahead.
The cubs were given an Health Trooper Hunt to be completed within 2o minutes. They excitedly raced around the Health Zone looking for clues and answers, and had loads of fun trying their hands on the various exhibits.
The cubs also learnt many tips on personal hygiene, nutrition and how to engage in physical activities to be fit and healthy, before taking the test for the Junior Health Trooper Badge.
Learning to wash our hands the right way
Our young cubs taking the test seriously
Needless to say, All our cubs passed the test and will be getting their well-deserved badge in a couple of weeks time.
Congratulations!

Singapore Air Show
On Sunday 7 Feb, some of our cubs with their parents checked out the Singapore Air Show. It was a sweltering morning, but luckily there was a slight breeze to cool the heat on the tarmac where there was an impressive array of jets, transport planes, helicopters and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs). Deterred by the long snaking queues (in the hot sun) to board these amazing flying machines, our cubs had to be satisfied with just snapping pictures, whilst learning about the different features of these aircraft.
Fortunately, at the special courtesy of Goodrich Corporation, our cubs were able to enjoy the dazzling aerobatic flying display from its shady chalet rooftop.

Knotty Fun
Hi Cubs

After a long break, we thought many of you must have forgotten how to tie your knots. So last Saturday, Uncle Dicky did a quick refresher on some of the basic knots. And what do we know, many of you remembered! Well done cubs! And some of the newer cubs had a chance to learn how to do it from their seniors...
Our cubs demonstrating that they know their stuff
Charmaine showing Joy how to do it
And after all the serious stuff, our cubs celebrated Hao Jin's birthday with a riotous birthday song and a group photo.

Hi boys & girls!
Looks like you had lots of fun making Chinese New Year lanterns and Valentine's Day cards. You were amazing students, learning quickly and your little fingers were very nimble in folding the 'ang paos' into fishes and lanterns.
And your cards were Sooo creative and pretty ! Wow!
Take a look at what some of you did..
