Camp SeeOnee 6

Hi Cubs
Hope you have rested well since our great camp last weekend.  We were very fortunate to have a real campfire on the last night of the camp. Our camp would not have been complete without a real fire to dance around and sing our scout songs :) These are great times which we will remember fondly and treasure the friendships made.

Thumbs Up for Camp SeeOnee !

All of you displayed good teamwork and spirit throughout the camp, and did a splendid job in showcasing what you have learnt to your parents. Well Done!.

And here are some shots of the great fun we had ...

For more photos, click here and here
(we will update with more photos later)

We would like to thank the Victorian Scouts and all the Volunteer Adult Leaders who have helped to make this camp a great success. They have been truly fantastic in organising all the great activities we had, and shown great care and love in ensuring our safety and comfort throughout the camp. Camp SeeOnee would not have been possible without them.

Are you looking forward to Camp Seeonee 7 already?

Disney - Pixar's new movie UP

Hi Cubs!

Take a look at the trailer of this new great movie

Synopsis of Movie
“UP” is a comedic adventure starring a 78-year old retired balloon salesman named Carl Fredricksen, who spent his entire life dreaming of exploring the globe and experiencing life to its fullest. He finally does so when he ties thousands of balloons to his house and flies away to the wilds of
South America.  However, by some twist of fate, he discovers an overly enthusiastic 8-year old "Wilderness Explorer" (Cub Scout) named Russell, who was stuck on his front porch.  Eventually, the pair go on adventures into a lost world through which Carl’s outlook of life was changed.

The movie opens in cinemas on 4 June 2009 and we are privileged that the main character, Russell, is a Cub Scout.  The Singapore Scouts Association has worked very closely with Disney Pixar to craft a 2-week programme which will be conducted over the course of the next few weeks before May, and upon completion of the second week's programme, you may submit entries to HQ in exchange for a limited edition Singapore Scouts - UP Badge.  Each entry submitted by a registered Cub Scout will be eligible for one badge.

This Saturday, please remember to bring your scissors, ruler and pencils.
We will be making balloon sculptures and some handicrafts , for you to submit for the Singapore Scouts - UP badge.
So do come this Saturday. see You!

Hike @ Southern Ridges 4 Apr 09

Hi Cubs!

What did you see during the hike from Marang Trail to Bukit Chandu?
Did you see the monkeys sitting on Henderson Waves and the snake at Hort Park?
Did you hear the birds chirping along the Tree Top Walk?
Did you play music to the Dancing Plant and watch the little leaves move to the beat?
Did you explore the various theme gardens at Hort Park?
Hope all of you had fun and enjoyed the 5km hike.
It was a great achievement for the many young cubs who have just joined us.
The hike was likely the longest walk they have ever done. Bravo!

Then what did you learn at Bukit Chandu?
When did the Japanese invade Singapore?
Were you scared when you heard the sound of guns and bombs during the movie?
Now we know more about the brave Malay Regiment soldiers who valiantly fought in the Battle of Pasir Panjang, and learn about he values of courage, loyalty and honour of people who gave their lives to defending Singapore.

Share with your family and friends your experiences from this hike. Write it in your log book.
Here are some photos to remember our wonderful day out at Southern Ridges.

GS Scouts @Taman Negara 13 to 16 March 09

Hi Everyone!

Last week, 12 of our cub scouts, together with their parents and 7 scouts from Soaring Eagles unit had a wonderful expedition to Taman Negara, Malaysia.

Arissa composed a song for this unforgettable experience.

Tahman Negara is a fun place to play,
playing in the rain,
hiking up a lane.
Tahman Negara is a fun place to play,
swimming in the water,
and we go back by a train.

Relive our experience from these photos and songs . Enjoy !
